Tribute to Sir Geoffrey Chandler

Sir Geoffrey Chandler, former CEO of Shell and a true pioneer within CSR, passed away on April 7th. He will be remembered for his efforts to make corporations respect human rights.

Sir Geoffrey Chandler passed away on April 7th. Throughout the past 15 years, Geoffrey has been the shining beacon and a good friend to all of us who work with human rights and business. As former CEO of Shell, Geoffrey was one of the first people in the world who pointed to the necessity for corporations to respect human rights and the benefits from doing so.

Besides his keen analyses and his ability to communicate clearly and unambiguously, Geoffrey was a warm and open man who strove to change the world to a better place for all of us. Geoffrey will forever have a special place in our hearts and stand out as a true pioneer of the significant changes that are currently taking place in the way companies relate to social sustainability.
