GLOBAL CSR Speaks at 2010 UN Global Compact Asia Pacific Conclave in India

Senior Partner, Sune Skadegaard Thorsen, will join leading panellists to discuss how enterprise value can be enhanced using the UN Global Compact

Senior Partner at Global CSR, Sune Skadegaard Thorsen, has been invited to speak and join other leading panellists at the 2010 Global Compact Asia Pacific Regional Conclave on March 15-16th. The theme of this conclave is Enhancing Enterprise Value through the Global Compact.  This conclave is a particularly notable event following the December 2009 release of voluntary Corporate Social Responsibility guidelines for India’s corporate sector. Mr. Thorsen was chosen to speak at this conclave because Global CSR has:

“. . . played a leadership role in furthering Responsible Corporate Citizenship and has championed the cause of contribution of the corporate sector in the economic and social development”-Uddesh Kohli, Executive Member, Governing Council, Global Compact Network, India

Mr. Thorsen will join Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, India’s Minister of Finance; Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Former President of India; Mr. Salman Khurshid, India’s Minister of State for Corporate Affairs; and Mr. Georg Kell, Executive Director of the UN Global Compact at the conclave.  Also attending are Dr. Shashi Tharoor, India’s Minister of State for External Affairs and Mr. Arun Maira, Member of India’s Planning Commission—the Co-Chairmen of the Advisory Council for the Conclave.

Mr. Thorsen expresses his enthusiasm for the recent focus in India on Corporate Social Responsibility stating:“It was with great pleasure that I accepted the invitation to speak at this important event. The fact that one of strongest and fastest growing economies in the Asia Pacific is committed to CSR and wishes ro demonstrates leadership deserves our full support. In addition, it falls well in line with our plans to establish an affiliate in Delhi .“
